First and Only Long Flight on Skis: Winter 2021

On the morning of April 17th I took off from Peterson Strip early and headed for the upper Yukon Valley. While favorable photographic light prevailed I flew to Beaver Creek, around Gollogly's Point and headed North to Mt. Schwatka (known as Mt. Adams among the residents of Beaver), past the cliffs where the golden eagles nest - none were seen (a bit early) then on to the Yukon Flats. It was a perfect clear and windless day. After exploring the area of the Twin Lakes and the Yukon River, I headed back to town to Dalrymple Strip where Curt Hamlin's hanger is located, since telltale signs of the end of ski season were everywhere.
